  • I provide information on care options and resources.

  • I support and assist with infant feeding.

  • I educate the family on newborn care and characteristics.

  • I educate families how to maximize age appropriate infant sleep.

  • I provide support to the parents and extended family.

  • I assist with household organization.

  • I provide resources when support requires a healthcare professional, clinical assessment, a need for prescription, or medical diagnosis.

  • I do not diagnose medical conditions, prescribe or administer treatment of medical conditions, or perform clinical procedures.

  • I do not stay alone with babies or other children routinely and for extended periods of time.

  • I do not act as a housekeeper or nanny.
